Today, under the chairmanship of the Head of the Security Council, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was held a regular meeting of the Security Council of the country.

The meeting was attended by the permanent members and the members of the Security Council, the chairmen of the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Supreme Economic Court, the heads of the military structures, law enforcement, supervisors and persons in charge of other relevant ministries and agencies.

During today's Security Council regular meeting were discussed the report of the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan on the causes and factors contributing to a coup attempt in early September of this year, as well as the situation of struggle against terrorism, extremism, further steps towards strengthening the security of the state and society, peace and stability in the country.

Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting delivered speech about the activities of the military and law enforcement structures in the direction of the security of the state and the population in Tajikistan, the rule of law and public order, the anti-terrorist operation, which took place on September 4 till 16 this year to eliminate terroristic group, which aimed to destabilize the peaceful life, security of the country, and noted a number of problems and shortcomings in this area.

The meeting also heard reports of Ministers of Defense, Internal Affairs, and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, commander of the Border Guards, the chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs and Regulation of National Traditions and Rituals under the Government of Tajikistan, and the chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism.

In addition, at a meeting of the Security Council, the heads of military structures and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to promptly eliminate shortcomings existing in the activity, taking into account the complex and rapidly changing situation in the world today, and instability in the region to take serious and timely measures to protect the achievements of independence, ensuring security of the state and its citizens, a significant increase in the level of skills, experience and professional skills of the personnel, readiness, professional and political vigilance and patriotism, unquestioning observance of military discipline, the requirements of military regulations in the ranks of institutions and bodies, and to systematically report on progress the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan.
