Visiting Prague Botanical Garden and Konopiste Castle

As part of his official visit to the Czech Republic, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon visited scenery spots, ancient and historical landmarks of this country.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon first of all visited the Prague Botanical Garden Troy, got familiar with its trees, shrubs and flowers, and other unique decorative and medicinal plants.

Botanical Garden consists of several parts, and serves as a place for relaxation and visits of nature lovers of hiking, guests and locals alike.

The garden is about 70 hectares and is located on a hilly terrain. It cultivates more than 7000 species of ornamental seedlings, flowers and shrubs, perennial trees and medicinal herbs.

Head of state Emomali Rahmon paid special attention to the different varieties of perennial, ornamental trees, flowers and shrubs appropriate for climate of our country. In order to exchange experience in the cultivation of seedlings and various plant the need was stressed for close cooperation of scientist’s sphere.

President Emomali Rahmon also visited Konopiste Castle which was built in the 13th century by Bishop Tobias. The last owner of the castle in the early 20th century was the heir to the Austrian throne Franz Ferdinand d'Este.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon was informed that the total area of the castle is about 225 hectares, consisting of a unique garden of trees and shrubs, a rose garden with figures. Castle is considered one of the most ancient historical and cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The inner area of the castle, consisting of 125 different premises, is 2800 sq. m. The castle kept 4600 units of military weapons and armor of the 18th century. In addition, it has 30 thousand household items, generally the castle contains more than 100 thousand hunting trophies, handicrafts, rare books and manuscripts.

After visiting the castle as a sign of respect for the history and culture of the people of the Czech nation, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon made an entry in the book of honorable guests.
