Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended the solemn ceremony of wreath-laying and military parade which has been held in the Victory Park of the capital on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

In this connection, the leadership of state and government, a great number of war and labor veterans, diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, numerous representatives of youth and communities of the capital have gathered here, as well as military units and regiments of the armed forces of Dushanbe garrison have festively drawn up.

The Head of state Emomali Rahmon spoke before those present and congratulated them, all the people of Tajikistan and peace-loving nations of the world on the 67th anniversary of great Victory over fascism.

With reference to remarkable contribution of representatives of Tajikistan in that tragic war, it was in particular noted that almost 300 thousand conscientious and valiant sons of our republic went to the front and 100 thousand of them heroically sacrificed themselves in the battlefield.

Afterwards, the ceremony of wreath-laying at the Eternal Flame took place as a tribute to the memory of heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War.

Wreaths were laid firstly by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, then on behalf of Majlisi milli and Majlisi namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, local executive bodies of state authority of Dushanbe, Defense Ministry and other military and law enforcement structures, war and labor veterans, diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, youth and communities of the country.

The memory of victims of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was also honoured by the silence minute.

It should be mentioned that more than one and half thousand soldiers and officers from different military structures of the country took part in the military parade where they displayed their professional skills.
