Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received a telegram of congratulations from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which reads, in particular:

"Dear Emomali Sharipovich,

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries.

Over the years, Russia and Tajikistan built up their relations based on the traditions of friendship that unite our people. More than 150 bilateral agreements have been signed on political, economic, military, scientific and technical, cultural cooperation and other areas.

The two countries have established effective cooperation within the CIS, CSTO, SCO, the UN, OSCE and other multilateral frameworks.

I firmly believe that Russia and Tajikistan will further continue to strengthen their strategic partnership in all areas, coordinate their efforts in countering international terrorism, extremism, cross-border crime and other challenges to regional security. There is no doubt that this will serve our common interests, contributing to peace and stability in Central Asia.

I sincerely wish you, dear Emomali Sharipovich, health and success, and to all citizens of Tajikistan - progress and prosperity".
