On June 14, 2017, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Armenia, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met in Yerevan with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ara Babloyan.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, especially the development of inter-parliamentary relations, was considered.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon congratulated Ara Babloyan on the successful results of the parliamentary elections and his election to the post of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia and wished him great success.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon, expressing satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation, noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of our diplomatic relations and voiced confidence that the parliaments of both countries as legislative structures will further make a worthy contribution to the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon, mentioning the history, experience, development and contribution of Tajik parliamentarism, stressed that the improvement of legislation in our country led the people to full universal unity. There was expressed confidence that the National Assembly of Armenia, like the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, will adequately serve the cause of prosperity and progress of the friendly and fraternal Republic of Armenia.
