The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with Communist Party Secretary of Liaoning Province of the People's Republic of China Li Xi on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Xiamen.

The meeting took place in Dalian city.

The establishment of a comprehensive cooperation between the provinces of Tajikistan and this developed province of China were the subject of discussion.

The two sides acknowledged cooperation in the field of investment, economy and commerce, energy, minerals processing, construction and reconstruction of small and medium-sized hydropower projects, culture, education, in particular, establishment of direct links between higher education institutions and the training of experienced specialists for Tajikistan in higher educational institutions of Liaoning, as well as tourism among the important and beneficial spheres.

The parties agreed to cooperate in order to improve the level of bilateral cooperation in terms of attraction of Chinese investments in the implementation of small and large social and economic projects, in particular, the channeling of investments in Tajikistan's hydropower projects, reconstruction of road infrastructure, processing of minerals, agriculture and construction of tourist facilities.

The interlocutors also touched upon other issues of mutual interest.
