Meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin

The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, who is in Dushanbe on a working visit.

The discussion covered state and prospects of development of various aspects of the Tajik-Kazakh strategic partnership as well as outlining the ways of its future expansion.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trends that have prevailed in bilateral relations between their countries. Emomali Rahmon and Askar Mamin praised the successful results of recent official visit of the President of Tajikistan to Astana.

The implementation of the agreements reached following the latest summit meetings between President Emomali Rahmon and President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana was assessed important.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon emphasized the need in a more and speedy implementation of cooperation packages, including the Agreement on the order of the stay of citizens of the two countries on each other's territory.

The sides also discussed the issue of increasing economic growth within the framework of co-chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

The interlocutors also discussed strengthening trade and economic ties, diversifying trade, developing ties among regions, expanding cooperation in the field of mining and light industry, especially in the energy and tourism sectors, agriculture, and also in other spheres of the real sector of the economy.

The further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the areas of communication, transportation/ transit, rational use of water and energy resources was the other subject of discussion.

The issues of strengthening of cooperation in the field of security, culture, education, and the humanitarian sphere were also discussed.

The head of state Emomali Rahmon highly assessed latest (consultative) meeting of the Heads of Central Asian countries in the domain of developing regional cooperation and considered important its results for solving regional problems.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation aimed at removing all barriers to the development of interstate relations.

During the meeting, other issues being of mutual interest were also reviewed.
