On June 13, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, at the Palace of the Nation, met with the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Muhammad Abdul Hamid in the margins of the Fifth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.
The head of state welcomed the distinguished guest in the Tajik land.
President of the country Emomali Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan is interested in even closer ties and strengthening bilateral relations with Bangladesh, and praised the role of this country in expanding regional cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to effectively use the favorable opportunities for cooperation in the interests of countries in the economic, commercial, industrial, tourist, educational spheres and direct investments.
It was emphasized that using the rich experience of Bangladesh for the development of industry in Tajikistan, the creation of joint production enterprises and the Council of Entrepreneurs, the signing of new cooperation agreements will be fruitful for both parties.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation and integration of countries in the framework of reputable international organizations and institutions towards solving global problems and combating the threats and challenges of the modern world were considered.
The expediency of a joint struggle against international terrorism and extremism, the signing of an agreement on security cooperation and the creation of a joint working group was expressed.
During the meeting other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
