In the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon also met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

“Positions of Tajikistan and Pakistan are similar on major important issues. This factor allows two states to mutually coordinate actions with the view of addressing regional problems”, - stated Emomali Rahmon.

A constructive talk has been held on acceleration of realization of regional infrastructure projects for linking power and transport networks of Tajikistan and Pakistan through Afghanistan, developing cooperation in spheres of industry, agriculture, joint fight against modern threats and challenges, etc.

Moreover, the preparations to the next meeting of head of states of “Dushanbe Four” (Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Russia) and other subjects of interest have been discussed at the talks.
