Today the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari sent to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, which reads in part:
“From ancient times our states have good cultural relations. Our poets and writers are famous in both countries. Their worthy works make the peoples of both states closer.
From the moment of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states from the 6th of June 1992 our relations have been consistently developing in different spheres under your leadership. I am very grateful for your participation in opening of the Branch of National Bank of Pakistan in Dushanbe. The bank will favor the enhancement of our economic relations.
Sincere and warm hospitality of you, the Government of Tajikistan and its people during our visit to your beautiful country will forever remain in my memory. During this visit a number of important issues for the future development of bilateral relations have been discussed.
My dear brother, we wish you and the Tajik people strong health, happiness and success”.
