Working trip to Rudaki district

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in the Rudaki district in order to become familiar with its socio-economic development and take part in the opening ceremonies of several facilities.

The working visit began with the Baking and Confectionery Festival, and event dedicated to national cuisine, and the Exhibition of Traditional Crafts which brings together the best producers from 16 towns and communities of the district.

Inspired by the announcement of the Period of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts, Rudaki craftsmen are actively participating in the revival and development of folk crafts, such as pottery, engraving, blacksmithing, basket weaving, sewing among other things. The development of the tourism has encouraged the craftsmen to make beautiful gifts and attractive souvenirs for tourists.

Next, President Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony for a new building of the Secondary Educational Institution No. 182 in Juibodom village of Chorteppa community, which was constructed by Directorate of Construction of Government Facilities of the Presidential Executive Office. The three-storey school is built to accommodate 1280 students in two shifts. During the tour of the school, President Emomali Rahmon praised the quality of the construction and instructed teachers to educate the younger generation in the spirit of national pride and patriotism.

This was followed by the opening ceremony for a modern Secondary Educational Institution No. 85 in Oli Somon village in the community of Zainabobod, which was built by a local businessman Abdujabbor Kurbonov. President Emomali Rahmon called for education workers to support the educational policy of the state and to make a significant contribution to the education of children and teenagers, since the development of the nation depends on the development of the educational sector.

From here President Emomali Rahmon proceeded to the opening ceremony of the Iron Smelting Enterprise in Chorgulteppa. The smelting plant was built to facilitate the achievement of the fourth national goal - rapid industrialization, production and export of high-quality domestic products, creation of new jobs and improving the standard of living.

This plant will produce two types of construction materials - fixtures and cables of various sizes. Its production capacity is set at 60 thousand tons of fixtures and cables per year. The materials will be sourced from local natural reserves, except for the chemical powder which will be supplied from Kazakhstan.

Successful implementation of state programs and construction and renovation of industrial enterprises serve to increase the volume of industrial production and to improve the economic and social level of the district.

In the first eight months of this year, the volume of industrial production amounted to just over 243 million somoni, which is 46.3% more than during the same period last year. To date, 127 small and large manufacturing companies operate in Rudaki and the volumes of its production are gradually increasing.

While visiting Ismatullo Farm, which specializes in growing greenhouse cucumbers, President Emomali Rahmon also inspected the Exhibition of Agricultural Products which showcased locally produced goods and the district’s achievements in the agriculture sector.

Rudaki farmers have increased their production to reach over 379 million somoni. Local beekeepers have produced 22 tons of quality honey, which is an increase over last year. Poultry farmers have been gradually increasing their livestock, while making significant contributions to providing the domestic market with high-quality domestic meat and eggs. Currently, the number of poultries in the area has reached 236,000.

Closing his trip, President Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Flag and the State Symbol Square where the flag flies on a 17 meter high flagpole.
