Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Commander of the United States Central Command, General Kenneth McKenzie who is in Tajikistan on a working visit.

The two sides discussed a number of topical issues between Tajikistan and United States with a focus on security collaboration.

President Rahmon and General McKenzie continued to share opinions on promoting regional peace and stability, countering global challenges and threats, as well as the current state of affairs in Afghanistan and intra-Afghan peace negotiations.

President Rahmon emphasized that Tajikistan pays constant attention to the issue of development efforts in the neighboring Afghanistan and has always supported the ongoing efforts of the government of Afghanistan to establish lasting peace and stability in the country.

The two sides confirmed their commitment to continue futher collaborations in the joint fight against modern threats and challenges, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other forms of transnational organized crime.
