Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda and the Chairman of Khatlon Province Kurbon Hakimzoda briefed President Emomali Rahmon in a telephone conversation about the natural disasters that affected a number of cities and districts of Khatlon.

The heavy rains that resulted in mudflows in May 11 destroyed multiple residential houses, roads and other important economic facilities.

President Rahmon instructed Prime Minister Rasulzoda and the Chairman of Khatlon to organize all the necessary measures to restore houses and other facilities as soon as possible, and to provide immediate financial assistance to the affected families.

Earlier in the day, during their telephone conversation, chairmen of Shamsiddin Shohin, Muminobod, Mir Said Ali Hamadoni, Yovon, Kushoniyon, Abdurahmoni Jomi, and Danghara districts of Khatlon region informed President Rahmon about the measures which have been taken to eliminate the consequences of recent natural disasters.
