The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari in the margins of the NAM Summit in Tehran.
During the talks the issues regarding the bilateral and multilateral developing cooperation between the two countries have been reviewed.
It was considered necessary to consistently monitor the course of implementation of signed documents and decisions of the Intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation.
It was also stressed that the works on linking railways and automobile roads, power networks between the two countries and opening of regular air-route should be accelerated as a means of enhancement of economic and trade relations.
The signing of the Trilateral Trade Agreement between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan and Tajikistan’s joining the Quadrilateral Agreement between Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have also been named as an effective way for boosting trade and business.
