The results of an official visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Tajikistan, including the newly signed documents and many reached agreements will give an impetus to further development of strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, strengthening regional security and stability, as well as socio-economic progress of Tajikistan.
According to reached arrangements, the Russian side in exchange for the 30-year-term prolongation of the period of stay of 201st military base will equip the Armed Forces of Tajikistan with modern military machinery, weapons and ammunition, will render other military-technical assistance and will establish a broad training of Tajik military personnel in its educational institutions. In accordance with the intentions of both parties, the defense potential of Tajikistan should be boosted.
According to another agreement, the Federal Drug Control Service of Russian Federation will allocate 5 million USD as technical assistance to the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Due to arrangements, achieved in the sphere of energy, the Russian side will export without an export duty annually to Tajikistan up to 1 million ton of petroleum combustible material, which meets the annual domestic needs of our country. Moreover, a number of small and medium hydropower stations should be built by the Russian side in Tajikistan, including on the internal flow passages of Zerafshan, Fondaryo and Khingob rivers.
Other serious arrangements have been achieved regarding the reconstruction of industrial potential of Tajikistan. 12 billion USD should be invested by Russia during the future 20 years into the rehabilitation of existing enterprises and the construction of new industrial facilities in Tajikistan. As it was noted, this will allow to ensure the Tajik people with jobs inside the country itself and to reduce labor migration to Russia.
According to the document signed in the domain of migration, the term of registration of labor migrants after arrival to Russia should be changed from 3 days to 15 days and the term of licenses for work in Russia - from 1 year to 3 years.
The results of the visit related to the development of cooperation in the areas of policy, security, defense, protection of law and order, economic and social progress, energy, industry, migration, education, science, culture and technology have been substantially reflected in the Joint Declaration on the results of official visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Republic of Tajikistan.
