In the afternoon in Bishkek city, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
During the meeting Vladimir Putin touched upon regional security issues and questions of bilateral economic cooperation and expressed concern over the reduction of volume of goods turnover between the two countries in 2012.
Head of Tajik state Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the arrangements reached during the last-year visit of the President of Russia to Tajikistan will be ratified and launched for implementation.
A constructive talk also took place on technical support of border troops and in general Armed Forces of Tajikistan, including with consideration of prospects of situation in Afghanistan beyond 2014.
The sides also exchanged views on the ways to further enhance cooperation in the areas of energy, industry, science and technology, education, culture and inter-regional interaction.
