The detailed discussion of issues pertaining to the enhancement of political, security, economic, trade, investment, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan took place during official negotiations with the participation of enlarged delegations of both sides.

Both sides expressed deep interest in the expansion of friendly ties and mutually beneficial cooperation.

With interest in the enlargement of economic and trade interaction it was stressed the necessity of simplification of opportunities of transportation and transit, finding of new communication ways.

In this regard, the preparation of trilateral trade and transit agreement between Tajikistan and Pakistan through Afghanistan and accession of Tajikistan to quadrilateral agreement between Pakistan-China-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan was considered very important.

A constructive talk was also held on the construction of CASA-1000 PTL and fruitful implementation of many other regional projects.

5 new cooperation documents have been signed following the talks.

At first President Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif signed the Joint Communiqué of Tajikistan and Pakistan on the Partnership Development.

Other signed documents were:

• Agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and Government of Pakistan on the establishment of joint working group on fight against international terrorism;
• MoU between the Government of Tajikistan through the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and Government of Pakistan through its Ministry of Hosiery Industry in the Sector of Development of Hosiery Industry;
• MoU on Cooperation between the Government of Tajikistan and Government of Pakistan in the sphere of professional education;
• MoU between the National Library of Tajikistan and Department of libraries, administration of city and division of development of the Government of Pakistan;
• MoU on Cooperation between Tajik National University and National University of Contemporary Languages of Islamabad.

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif invited Emomali Rahmon to pay an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience.
