Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Federal Minister for Water and Energy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Khoja Asif Mohammad.
The sides addressed the issues of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan, first of all in the energy field.
Main attention was paid to the ways of fruitful implementation of regional project CASA-1000, envisaging for power transmission from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
As it was informed, Tajikistan and Pakistan have established joint commission for development of energy cooperation and are currently taking efforts to prepare important documents for signing before the next visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif to Tajikistan to be held in September.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest of the leadership of both countries, including participation in investment projects, establishment of joint industrial ventures and elimination of regional trade barriers.
