In the afternoon, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of China Xi Jinping started the second unit of the first phase of the Dushanbe CHP-2 and have launched the construction of the Tajik section of interstate pipeline "Central Asia-China." It should be noted that during the construction of these facilities and the practical implementation of all signed documents between the two countries more than 6 billion Dollars in the form of direct investments shall enter in the Tajik economy.
The heads of the two neighboring countries Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping first visited Dushanbe CHP-2 (Combined Heating Power Plant), where after pressing the button, the second unit started its first stage. With the launch of the second unit power generation capacity of CHP will reach 100 MW.
Here the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of China Xi Jinping, laying the foundation stone and a capsule with a message to future generations, have launched the second phase of construction of combined heat and power plant.
After the construction and launch of the second stage, the power of which, according to the plan, is 300 megawatts, the total power generation capacity of CHP will reach 400 MW.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President Xi Jinping congratulated the residents of the country on the beginning of the implementation of this important project for all the people of Tajikistan and called this CHP as one of striking examples of cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
Then, the heads of the two states - Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping arrived together in Rudaki district, where they took part in the ceremonial start of construction of the Tajik section of interstate pipeline "Central Asia-China."
It was noted that the length of the gas pipeline on the territory of Tajikistan is 400 km and more than 3 billion 200 million Dollars will be spent for its construction. In the process of construction of a large structure, which will continue for 3 years, more than 3 thousand people will be employed, most of whom are citizens of Tajikistan. The project involves the creation of forty-seven tunnels with a total length of seventy six kilometers. In twenty-four cases, it will be laid under water.
It was expressed hope that the exploration work of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and its partners in Tajikistan will have positive results and we will have in the near future our own oil and gas.
It should be reminded that 16 documents were signed today between Tajikistan and China. It was noted that in the process of their implementation more than 6 billion US Dollars will enter in the Tajik economy.
