In the afternoon, in Beijing, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended and spoke at the APEC Summit "Dialogue on Strengthening Partnership in the area of Interconnection".
Summit was opened by the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
The summit in Beijing brought together heads of state and government of the 8 states of the Asian continent, including China, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, as well as heads of influential regional organizations.
It was emphasized that the main theme of the dialogue is to organize economic zone of the Silk Road, as well as the expansion of relations between the countries of Asia and the Pacific.
Head of State Emomali Rahmon in his speech primarily expressed appreciation to President Xi Jinping for his invitation to the summit and the high level of organization and hospitality.
Emomali Rahmon, praising China's initiative on the organization of dialogue with non-APEC members, called it a demonstration of China's commitment to the expansion of comprehensive regional integration. It was emphasized that the expansion of transport and economic relations in such a wide format is very important for landlocked countries such as Tajikistan.
