President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which reads, in particular:

"Your Excellency,

I have learned with horror, anger and pain about the attacks of the armed groups of Taliban on the school of city of Peshawar, which resulted in the deaths of more than a hundred children and teachers, and dozens of casualties from among Pakistani citizens.

I am deeply convinced that this terrible event, once again showing to the world community a cowardly face of international terrorism, will strengthen our will to continue the relentless fight against this shameful phenomenon of century, will give impetus to international cooperation in preventing violence and extremism.

Please accept condolences and sympathy of the people and the Government of Tajikistan, and convey our warm feeling of friendship to the relatives of the innocents killed and wounded".
