Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Chief Executive of the German Energy Agency (dena) Stefan Kohler.
The issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany in energy sphere have been reviewed at the meeting.
Stefan Kohler stated: “after today’s visit of Nurek hydropower station my view about the great significance of Roghun HPP was strengthened, which will be constructed in the site similar to Nurek, and I will further stimulate the German companies for participation in implementation of this project”. Moreover, he stressed that “henceforth the Tajik people can consider me as an energy ambassador of their country in Germany”.
The Head of State Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to German side for support and assistance in technical renovation of hydro-energy facilities and construction of small HPPs in Tajikistan, as well as voiced confidence that this cooperation will further expand.
A constructive talk has also been held regarding the continuation of contruction of small and medium hydropower plants, establishment of cooperation in exploitation of oil and gas, production of biogas and energy-saving equipment.
