Today, Tajik-Indian agricultural forum took place in the State Complex "Kokhi Borbad" of Dushanbe with the participation of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi.
The forum was attended by representatives of government agencies, private companies, experts of research centers and organizations, large businesses. It is expected that the results and agreements reached during the forum will be implemented by both sides.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his speech stressed that "The Republic of Tajikistan is well-positioned for the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Now in Tajikistan projects and programs at the amount of 7.5 billion US dollars are implemented. The legislation of our country ensures more than 40 sets of privileges and preferences related to taxation and customs activities".
Favorable climatic conditions and abundant sun, water, nature of the country, as well as fertile valleys are ideal for growing fruit, vegetables and high-quality crops create favorable conditions for the comprehensive further development of the agrarian sector.
With this in mind, there was a call to the Indian business community to strengthen cooperation with their Tajik counterparts to implement joint and mutually beneficial investment projects in Tajikistan.
The President of Tajikistan expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and India in various fields, adding that "the world community knows that the ties between our two countries are based on the historical and cultural closeness of our ancient people, the world-famous values, based on a deep stable morality, ethics, philosophy of humanism, true worldview of our ancestors".
Indian Prime Minister N. Modi in his speech stressed the need to enhance the mutually beneficial relations between the two countries and expressed readiness of the Indian side to increase the participation in investment projects by Indian investors in various sectors, especially in the agricultural sector.
During the forum, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has presented the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with a recently published book by Tajik scholar Bobojon Gafurov "Tajiks" in Hindi translation.
