This morning the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with members of the Security Council of the country, heads of law enforcement, defense and military agencies, the Agency for Drug Control and the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, as well as commander of the Border Troops of the country.

Today, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary of the Party Committee - Head of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China Zhang Chunxiang.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with this large region of China, neighboring with our republic.

Today, at the Rudaki Avenue with the participation of President Emomali Rahmon was given the start of construction of a complex of office buildings of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended and spoke at the first session of the Majlisi milli of Majlisi Oli (National Assembly, Upper House of Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan (fifth convocation).

The first session of the Majlisi milli of the Republic of Tajikistan of the fifth convocation was held for the first time after the election of its new structure, that was opened by its most elderly member Qahhor Mahkamov.

Today, President Emomali Rahmon received for a conversation a group of personnel proposed for responsible positions in the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Karim Karimzoda has been withdrawn from the office of a judge of the Constitutional Court and offered for the post of deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left for an official visit to the Republic of Korea as well as to attend the 7th World Water Forum.

Today, President Emomali Rahmon heard the phone reports of the chairmen of Sughd and Khatlon regions, Kulob city, districts of Vose, Hamadoni, Farkhor and Dangara.

In the reports of the heads of regions, cities and districts President Emomali Rahmon paid particular attention to issues related to the implementation of the plan of the state budget, the extension of spring sowing, especially cotton and vegetables, dam protection works, construction of industrial enterprises, creating new jobs and beautification.

Today, President Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the chairman of Faizobod district Imomnazar Karimiyon in connection with a landslide which killed 10 residents of the district.

During the telephone conversation the chairman of the district informed the President about the causes of natural disaster, as well as on the course of restoration works.

In the afternoon, President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

The meeting discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.

President Emomali Rahmon in the beginning of the meeting noted that "the development of a strategic partnership with Russia is among the long-term priorities of the foreign policy of Tajikistan."
