His Excellency Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of Republic of India paid a State visit to Tajikistan on 7-9 October 2018 at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of Republic of Tajikistan. During the visit, the President of the Republic of India, His Excellency Shri Ram Nath Kovind and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon met in restricted and extended formats. At the outset I would like to once again welcome H.E. Shri Ram Nath Kovind and His Excellency’s Delegation to Tajikistan on my behalf personally and on behalf of the hospitable Tajik people.

Tajikistan perceives this visit of the President of the Republic of India as the continuation of intergovernmental dialogue between the leadership of the two countries.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met in the Palace of the Nation with President of the Republic of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind, who has arrived in Tajikistan on a state visit.

During the restricted-attendance meeting and talks with the delegations, a wide range of issues on bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The head of our state Emomali Rahmon extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his birthday.

Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left for an official visit to Japan.

The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was seen off at the Dushanbe International Airport by the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli, the Chairman of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and other officials.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

In the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

During the negotiation, which took place in an atmosphere of openness and constructivism, the Heads of State discussed the current state of Tajikistan – Belarus cooperation and its development prospects.

In the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting the parties discussed the state of bilateral Tajikistani – Russian strategic partnership and its development prospects.

The President of Russian Federation expressed his gratitude to the Tajikistani side and to President of Tajikistan for the warm welcome and excellent organisation of the CIS summit.

The Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States held its summit in Dushanbe today. The summit took place in the city residence of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
