On May 8, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left for Moscow at the invitation of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President was seen off at the Dushanbe International Airport by the chairmen of the National Assembly and Assembly of Representatives, the Prime Minister, and the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, among other officials.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame at the Victory Park Wall to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 — 1945 and paid tribute to the war victims.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali accompanied President Rahmon in this ceremony.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Sughd Province Rajabboy Ahmadzoda.

Ahmadzoda briefed President Rahmon on the current state of rehabilitation of homes destroyed in the border conflict which occurred in late April. The reconstruction work is underway in Isfara and Bobojon Ghafurov.

Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the US Special Representative for Reconciliation in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.

The current state of affairs and the restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan, as well as both regional and international matters were the focus of the meeting.

The discussion focused over the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached between the parties to normalize the situation in the Tajik – Kyrgyz border areas.

Particular attention was paid to ensure compliance with the ceasefire and the return of troops to their permanent bases.

On 30 April 2021, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic His Excellency Sadyr Japarov.

During the conversation, the heads of state spoke about the latest conflict incidents in the border areas and discussed the current situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.
