The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who is in Dushanbe in order to take part in the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Ministerial meeting.

The current state and prospects of bilateral Tajikistan-Azerbaijani relations were discussed with a focus on cooperation in the political, transportation, communication, industry, agriculture, and education spheres.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who is in Tajikistan to take part in the 9th Ministerial Conference Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process.

A wide range of issues related to Tajik-Turkish cooperation were discussed with a focus of political, economic, trade and investment spheres, energy, industry, agriculture, transport, tourism, science, education and health care.

In the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammed Ashraf Ghani, who arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit and to take part in the 9th Ministerial Conference Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process.

At the outset, I would like to express my profound gratitude to Mr. Chairperson for the invitation and the opportunity to outline my thoughts at this High-Level Meeting.

Today's meeting, which is being held as a part of the International Decade for Action ‘Water for Sustainable Development’, is indeed very important for Tajikistan and the world community as a whole.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in an online high-level meeting to promote the implementation of the water - related goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda.

The online meeting took place in the UN headquarters as per Tajikistan’s initiative entitled “Comprehensive Mid-Term Review of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018 – 2028 which had been adopted by UN Resolution  dated March 18, 2018.

The symbol of Navruz has been approved in agreement with the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The first symbol similar to an evergreen conifer consists of seven levels decorated with national patterns. Various embroideries and objects are depicted around them respresenting rebirth of nature.

In the future, the national Navruz dish sumanak and the Navruz flower will be used as a statewide symbol for the holiday.

On March 5, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolay Podguzov.

The discussion focused on further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Eurasian Development Bank.

On March 4, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the 14th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) via video conference.

In a statement delivered at the summit, President Rahmon talked about the acute global social, economic and financial crisis inflicted by COVID-19 and expressed confidence that the summit will serve to overcome the consequences of the pandemic and will contribute to sustainable development in the region.
