On the sidelines of the International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

The two leaders discussed current matters relating to bilateral relations, as well as access to clean and safe drinking water.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon opened International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 that kicked-off in Dushanbe today.

The conference is attended by heads of states and government of Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Over 1500 delegates from more than 100 countries and dozens of international and regional organizations are taking part in the Conference’s work.

At the outset, I welcome all of you in the city of Dushanbe at the International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028".

On the sidelines of the International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin.

The meeting addressed issues of current cooperation between Tajikistan and UN and its structural subdivisions.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain paid an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, 18-19 June 2018. Also the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain will participate in the International High-Level Conference on International Decade for Action, 'Water for Sustainable Development,' 2018-2028 on 20-21 June 2018.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The subjects on the agenda included the “Government Work Plan for upcoming six-month period” and the “Model regulations on educational institution of higher professional education of the Republic of Tajikistan”.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon left for China to attend the SCO Heads of State Council meeting.

On June 9, 2018, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Qingdao to take part in the summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

It is expected that within the framework of his participation in the summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization the head of state Emomali Rahmon will hold a number of meetings with his SCO colleagues.

Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in Tajikistan on an official visit.

During the meeting the two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of entire range of Tajik-Russian relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
