10 years ago on June 27th, 1997 marked the great occasion in the modern history of the Tajik statehood which became the turning point and creative transformation in the fate of the people owing to wisdom, strong will and prudence of our ancient nation. With the signing of the General Agreement on Establishment of Peace and National Accord in Moscow that put an end to fratricidal war between the sons of one nation this noble historical day brought about the dream of long-suffered Tajik people come true.

At the end of the 20th century the Tajik Nation gained complete independence and today we are celebrating the 14th anniversary of this great historical achievement, the most sacred national holiday. In this regard, I congratulate the Tajik people and you – dear audience, and wish peace and stability, happiness and prosperity to your families.

Thirteen years ago our nation has reached the greatest historical achievement that is, gained the state independence that all the people of our country are on the eve of its celebration now. In spite of all existing difficulties this great and holy nation event is getting more mean and specific character within the years presenting more valuable role in political and social-economic life of the country.
