The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held three beneficial meetings in Garlik town of Turkmenistan.
Head of Tajik state Emomali Rahmon firstly met with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
A wide range of issues related to friendly relations and multidimensional cooperation between the two countries has been considered at the meeting.
This morning the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon entered Atamurod city of Turkmenistan to take part in the ceremony of launching the construction of Turkmenistani section of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan railway.
The President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has also arrived in Turkmenistan to attend this important regional event.
This evening in Ashgabat the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
During the meeting both sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral ties between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
Emomali Rahmon, paying special attention to the development of economic and trade cooperation, stated: “Tajikistan supports the efforts of Pakistan to more active participation in the framework of ECO and OIC”.
Today, a trilateral meeting also took place between the presidents of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in Ashgabat.
The issues regarding the construction of railway linking Tajikistan and Turkmenistan through Afghanistan were the main topic of trilateral conversation.
It was noted with satisfaction that the issues related to investment of this project were coordinated in October 2012 according to Action Plan of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Programme (CAREC).
In the afternoon, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, to attend the International Navruz celebrations.
In addition, the heads of state or high-ranking representatives from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, India, Turkey and other countries marking Navruz will also visit Turkmenistan in order to take part in festive events and hold bilateral and multilateral meetings.
Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the regular session of the CIS Council of Head of States in the capital city of Turkmenistan – Ashgabat.
In addition, heads of other member states of this organisation, including Armenia, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Prime Minister of Moldova, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan have gathered in Ashgabat to attend the summit.
This evening in Ashgabat the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in the spheres of policy, economy and trade, science and technologies, and culture have been reviewed at the meeting.
Today the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Abadan city of Turkmenistan and together with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the second queue of a great spinning mill.
As it was informed, about 1200 permanent jobs have been created in two queues of this enterprise, which annually produces 4870 tons of threads from 6650 tons of cotton fiber.
In the afternoon, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived to town Qipchoq, visited the mausoleum of the first president of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov and laid a wreath in front of it.
On the same day the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon laid a wreath in front of the monument to the Constitution of Turkmenistan, as well as got familiarized with the museum of Constitution of this country and Turkmenbashi’s mosque.
The program of an official visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Turkmenistan began today in the morning with the solemn ceremony of official welcome near the “Oguzkhan” Palace of the President of Turkmenistan.
Afterwards, a tête-a-tête meeting was held between the heads of both states Emomali Rahmon and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during which a wide range of issues of bilateral, regional and international cooperation of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have been reviewed.
