In the afternoon, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a number of constructive talks.

The issues of establishment and intensification of cooperation in the area of extraction and processing of oil between Tajikistan and Kuwait have been reviewed at the meeting with Executive Director of National Oil Company of the State of Kuwait Nizar Mohammed Al Adsani.

Nizar Al Adsani stated that the State of Kuwait is interested in the establishment of such cooperation with Tajikistan.

During the meeting with Head of Cabinet of Emir of Kuwait Naser Sabah Alahmad Aljabeer Al Sabah the issues of implementation of previously signed and currently signed documents have been considered.

Head of Cabinet stated that “Emir of Kuwait and the whole leadership of the country are infinitely interested in the setting up and expanding of wide-ranging cooperation with Tajikistan and its people with rich history and culture”.

This evening President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Fund Bader Al-Saad.

A constructive talk has taken place on the prospects of wide-ranging cooperation, including in investment in many infrastructure, energy, transport projects, which are of great regional significance.

Both sides reiterated their willingness and interest in enhancing of long-term cooperation.

The substantial review of prospects of relations and bilateral cooperation has been continued at the top level talks of heads of both states with the participation of official delegations.

As it was stressed, Tajikistan and Kuwait can develop a wide-range cooperation in different spheres of social life, including regional and world policy, economy, trade, and investment, energy, road-building, agriculture, education, health, culture, science and technology, tourism and etc.

President of Tajikistan also met with the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Jabeer Mubarak Alahmad Al Sabah.

Much attention was focused on the strengthening and expansion of economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Sheikh Jabeer Mubarak Alahmad Al Sabah stated: “Your current visit to the State of Kuwait is promising and fruitful”.

The issues related to the intensification of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation have been considered at the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Alkhaled Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

The issues of political, economic, trade, scientific and cultural cooperation have been reviewed at the meeting.

A constructive talk has also taken place on the regional and international issues.

Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Dmitry Mezentsev.

The issues of cooperation in the framework of this organization, subjects of the agenda of session of head of member states and future chairmanship of Tajikistan have been considered at the meeting.

Much attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the areas of policy, regional security, economy, trade and youth policy.

Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Sven Alkalaj.

The issues regarding the enhancement of multidimensional cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN have been discussed at the meeting.

Much attention was focused on the International High-Level Conference on Water Cooperation to be held in August current year under the auspices of the United Nations in Dushanbe.

This evening President Emomali Rahmon received the Mayor of Xiamen city of China Liu Keqing.

The issues of establishment and development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Xiamen city of China, including in the framework of twin cities Dushanbe and Xiamen have been discussed at the meeting.

Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon answered to the questions of a group of famous Kuwaiti journalists.

It should be reminded that this interview has taken place on the eve of the forthcoming state visit of the head of Tajik state Emomali Rahmon to the State of Kuwait.
