On the sidelines of the opening of the launch event of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2018, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York.

Dushanbe hosted top-level talks between President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The official welcoming ceremony took place before the talks. The two leaders also introduced the members of their delegations.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks in the Palace of Nation with President of Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.

Participants in the limited attendance talks discussed issues related to the development of friendly relations and multilateral cooperation. Following the talks, consultations were held with the participation of the delegations.

Today, at the government residence, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Salini Impregilo, Pietro Salini.

The meeting discussed the issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with the Salini Impregilo industrial Group, particularly cooperation in the field of construction and rehabilitation work at the hydropower facilities, including Roghun hydroelectric dam.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met at the government residence with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who is in Tajikistan on a working visit.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with President of Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Faisal al-Fayez.

The state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations between Tajikistan and Jordan was the main subject on the agenda. The two sides, in particular, noted that parliaments play an important role in promoting expansion of friendly cooperation between the countries.

At the Qasri Millat Palace, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is in Dushanbe on a working visit.

The talks covered, in particular, the current bilateral cooperation matters between Tajikistan and Iran.

The two sides discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment, energy, transportation, agriculture and industry ties.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received at the Qasri Millat Palace the delegation of members of the European Parliament (EP) headed by Iveta Grigule-Pēterse that has arrived in Dushanbe to take part in the 6th meeting of Inter-parliamentary Cooperation Committee between Tajikistan and the European Union.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met at the Qasri Millat Palace with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is in Dushanbe on an official visit.

During the restricted format meeting, the two presidents discussed in depth the prospects for developing of bilateral ties between their countries. Later the talks continued with the two countries’ delegations taking part.

Today in the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

In the course of the talks, the Head of our state expressed satisfaction at the progress made in strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia, and underscored that Tajikistan’s position regarding expansion of security cooperation with Russian Federation has remained unchanged.
