In the afternoon, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived on an official visit to Brussels City, the capital of the Kingdom of Belgium.

Firstly, the Head of Tajik State Emomali Rahmon met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.

During the meeting the issues of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union have been discussed.

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the head of International Monetary Fund mission Jonathan Dunn.

The issues of bilateral cooperation on support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan and other questions of interest have been considered at the meeting.

As it was mentioned, economic reforms of Tajikistan are being implemented depending on inter-regional opportunities and conditions, as well as with consideration of recommendation of IMF.

Today, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Senior Vice-President of the World Bank Kaushik Basu.

At the meeting issues of support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan and technical, economic, social and ecological expertise of the project for construction of Roghun HPP have been reviewed.

Another constructive meeting of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon was held with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Naci Koru.

Naci Koru extended the greetings of the President of Turkey Abdulla Gul to the Head of Tajik State Emomali Rahmon and named the relations between the two countries and its top-level leadership “particular, close and brotherly”.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon also had a constructive talk with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Anvar Muhammad Gardash.

The Head of State expressed satisfaction with the multidimensional cooperation between the two countries and highlighted that they should further take efforts for realization of abundant untapped opportunities.

At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Navaz Dipu Moni the establishment of regular ties and cooperation was discussed.

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister called the regular increase of regional and international authority of Tajikistan as remarkable and stressed an interest of her country in strengthening and enhancing cooperation.

At the meeting of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain Ghanim Fazlulbuaynan preparation and interest of the two countries in the establishment and development of mutually beneficial cooperation was stressed.

At the meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Indonesia Yuri Octavian Thamrin a constructive talk was conducted on the importance of today’s conference of the countries of Asia Cooperation Dialogue and the relations between the two countries.

Yuri Octavian Thamrin highly appraised the level of preparations for the conference and called the holding of this gathering in Dushanbe as an evidence of increase of Tajikistan’s authority in the region and the world.

At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Zalmay Rasul the issues being considered over the recent years between the two countries have been discussed.

Effective interaction between the relevant structures of the two countries for the soonest implementation of great regional projects, including on the construction of railway between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, CASA-1000 power line and others have been reviewed.

At the meeting with State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Atiya the questions of developing cooperation between the two friendly countries were discussed.

“We attach a particular significance to the development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the State of Qatar and we feel the same approach from your state with regard to Tajikistan”, - stated President Emomali Rahmon.
