Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel has congratulated the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on his re-election and stressed with satisfaction that the friendly relations between Germany and Tajikistan are always in the process of development and expansion. German Chancellor stated that the both sides should further take joint efforts for strengthening of such cooperation.

Emperor Akihito of Japan sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in which it is said in particular:
