Meeting with Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Jan Vapaavuori

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Brussels also met with Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Jan Vapaavuori.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with the European Investment Bank.

"The Government of Tajikistan considers the European Investment Bank a reliable partner and is ready to bring relations to a higher level", - said President Emomali Rahmon.

The issues of further development of cooperation in energy, transportation, irrigation, education, health care, banking, environmental protection, EIB investment to the exploration, extraction and processing of minerals mining, and  the development of socio-economic infrastructure were discussed.

A constructive discussion was also held on the participation of the Bank in the implementation of regional infrastructure projects to build roads, railways, hydroelectric plants, transmission lines, including the CASA-1000, providing for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
