Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honorable Ilham Aliyev, on the sidelines of the Summit of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in Baku.

The Leader of the Nation, in particular, noted that we highly value the trusting relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan in all areas.

It was emphasized that this year, despite the crisis trends in the system of international relations, was very successful for our bilateral relations.

The Head of State mentioned that one of its most important events was the state visit of Honorable Ilham Aliyev to the Republic of Tajikistan.

As a result of the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to our country, the parties signed an important package of intergovernmental and interdisciplinary documents, which enriched bilateral relations with qualitatively new content.

In this context, it was noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted the Action Program for the practical implementation of the agreements reached.

During the meeting, regional and international issues were also discussed.

It was stressed that Tajikistan wants the South Caucasus to become a safe and prosperous region.

At the end of the conversation, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon thanked his counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, for successfully holding the Summit of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), and highly appreciated the worthy contribution of friendly Azerbaijan in the promotion of this Programme.
