On February 29, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of the Government of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

At the beginning of the meeting, personnel issues were discussed and the heads of 6 institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan were appointed by the resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the meeting, the report of the Head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ilhomjon Oimuhammadzoda, was heard on the results of the activities of this body in 2018-2023.

It was emphasized that the Main Department of Geology conducts its activities on the basis of the State Program for the Development of Geology of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2030, and on its basis, it continues the geological study of mineral resources on the basis of 56 projects in the facilities of regional works.

It was reported that along with the implementation of the Program, the Main Department also carried out contractual works in line with 1200 projects in the amount of 118.2 million somoni during the period of 2018-2023.

The Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions to the officials to revitalize the research and geological works, improve the activity of all structures in the field of geology, attract capital and import modern machinery and technologies in the field, as well as transition to the modern digital system and international standards of resource calculation, stressing that mining and processing of minerals, especially rare minerals, can become one of the most important ways of developing the national economy of the country.

Then, in the work of the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a number of drafts, including on the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Additions to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Political Parties", on the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Additions to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Education", on the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Licensing System" and on the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Pasture" was discussed and submitted for consideration to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Government meeting also reviewed the issues related to the State Program for Family Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028, the Program for the Introduction of Information and Communication Technologies in General Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028, and the Program for Improving the Reclamation Status of Irrigated Agricultural Lands in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028.

At the end of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon also gave specific instructions to the Government of the country, local executive bodies of state power and relevant organizations and institutions to accomplish works pertaining to the winter season at the necessary level, prepare for spring planting, effective use of land, environmental cleanliness, greening of areas and revitalizing the creative measures for the decent celebration of the International Navruz holidays and the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
