Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Chiang Mai city from the capital city of Thailand, Bangkok, in order to attend the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit “Water Security and Water-related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment”.
In Chiang Mai the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon at first paid a visit to the Thai Royal Development Study Center and got familiarized with leading experiences of agrarians and foresters of this country.
As it has been informed, the rehabilitation of barren forests and erection of new ones was commenced at the initiative of the King of Thailand in this vast area 30 years ago. During these years not only forests have been rehabilitated here, but also the number of animals and birds has also increased.
Here the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon planted a seedling of argan tree as an evidence of strengthening of long-term friendship and cooperation between Tajikistan and Thailand.
