Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Chief Executive of the German Energy Agency (dena) Stephan Kohler.
The issues of multidimensional cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany, first of all in energy sphere have been considered at the meeting.
Head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed thanks to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Germany for a constant support of stable socio-economic development of Tajikistan and voiced his confidence in further deepening of mutually advantageous relations between the two countries, including in the economic, commercial and investment sectors.
Stephan Kohler briefed the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the preparations and course of conducting of a large economic Tajik-German forum to be held today and tomorrow in Dushanbe, as well as reaffirmed a keen interest of his country in the intensification of wide-ranging cooperation with Tajikistan.
According to S. Kohler, Germany and particularly its huge energy companies are keenly interested in the participation in construction of small and medium hydropower stations of Tajikistan. It was highlighted that Germany can assist Tajikistan in supply of energy-saving equipment, in particular in reduction of energy consumption in Tajik Aluminum Company.
Moreover, it was stressed that Germany will continuously support initiatives of Tajikistan in ensuring access to renewable sources of electricity power, such as hydropower, wind and solar energy.
A constructive talk has also taken place regarding the renovation of existing hydro-energy plants of Tajikistan, including Norak HPP, and other subjects of mutual interest.
