Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck.
Head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed thanks to the management of the World Bank for consistent support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan. It was in particular noted that over the years of partnership the World Bank has allocated a total amount of over 750 million USD of preferential loans, grants and technical aid. Currently 13 projects in energy, agriculture, education, health, water supply, household and reforms of public administration are being implemented at the amount of 223 million USD of grant funding of WB.
During the talks much attention was paid to the ways of fruitful implementation of Country Strategy of the World Bank for Tajikistan for 2015-2018.
A constructive conversation was also held on the process of technical and economic assessment and evaluation of ecological and social impact of project for construction of Roghun HPP, beginning of construction of 500-kV regional power transmission line CASA-100, funding of the Tajikistani section of railway of Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan and other issues of mutual interest.
