Meeting with defense ministers of member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization

This morning, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Defence Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), who arrived in Tajikistan to attend its next meeting.

The meeting discussed issues of military and military-technical cooperation of CSTO member states.

President Emomali Rahmon, as acting chairman of the CSTO, in particular, said: "It should be noted that the activities of the Council of Defense Ministers of the organization has always supported the heads of state, and we expect the defense departments of improved and coordinated action aimed at strengthening security and stability of our states. "

A constructive discussion took place on the current situation in the region and the world, the growing threat posed by transnational terrorist and extremist elements, the implementation of joint effective measures to prevent a variety of serious threats in the region of CSTO responsibility, particularly on its south.

They expressed confidence that the complete and high quality performance of the decision of the Council of heads of CSTO member states to provide operational assistance to Tajikistan to enhance the protection of the state border with Afghanistan will be one of the most effective measures to prevent possible threats.
