Meeting with the Minister of Public Security of China Guo Shenkun

Today, President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China Guo Shenkun, who arrived in Tajikistan to attend the meeting of interior ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the field of security and protection of the rule of law.

President Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to China for permanent technical assistance and contribution to the training of qualified personnel in this sphere, stressed that effective cooperation between the two friendly and neighboring countries will actively contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region and ruthless struggle against manifestations of terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking, weapons and military equipment.

According to Guo Shenkun, China is ready to continue to fully support the sustainable development of Tajikistan as a reliable neighbor and an active member of the SCO.

The sides had a constructive discussion on all relevant issues and expressed their willingness to strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
