By the decision of the Academic Board of the European Centre for International and Strategic Studies (CERIS) (Brussels), the higher education institution of the European Union, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, on the eve of the Day of National Unity was awarded with the title of honorary professor of the Centre.
The Centre conferred to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon honorary title of professor in connection with the international significance of peacekeeping experience between Tajiks and his historical role in safeguarding peace and stability, national unity and further development of our country.
It should be noted that the European Center for Strategic and International Studies was established in 1985 on the initiative of university professors, diplomats and prominent civil servants for the purpose of conducting research and providing higher and complete education in the areas of politics, international relations and development policy. The center provides one-year Master degree courses in the domains of "International Politics" and "Development Policy". Currently, the students of the Center are ambassadors, young and acting diplomats, representatives of EU institutions, NATO and other international organizations of Europe.
